Raised in a real estate household, John began his career in real estate by helping his dad (a real estate appraiser) on the weekends during the refi-boom in the early 90's. He worked to pay for his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from  Nichols College (where he now sits on the Board of Advisors) by completing his own appraisal assignments as a Trainee Appraiser. After graduation, John entered the world of banking as a junior commercial lender, managing a commercial real estate portfolio for a local community bank. He finally got his chance to run the show when he bought the appraisal firm he grew up working in.

After successfully growing and eventually selling Allied Appraisal Associates, John returned to the world of commercial lending to support his growing family. Building his own portfolio of commercial real estate investments while rising through the ranks over the years, he also spent several years as the President & CEO of The Exchange Authority, a 1031 exchange qualified intermediary in Central Massachusetts. The Exchange Authority was (and remains) a regional leader in 1031 exchanges, completing transactions all over the country.

 

John's final stop in banking was as Chief Lending Officer for Clinton Savings Bank, where he oversaw all lending functions, including credit/underwriting. After several years in this role, John hung up his "banking hat" to take on his greatest career endeavor to date: Maple Row Advisors.
